More from Roycru

Our friend Roycru recently was featured on Keikari last month. You may remember him from my post on waistcoats (see here) in which he was kind enough to allow me to use his images. I especially like this Keikari post because not only does it provide inspirational images, but it also allows us to get to better acquainted with Mr.Roycru.  His dry sense of humor compliments his style well and vice versa.

One of the most relevant quotes for this blog comes when he is asked to describe his style. Roycru responds, “I have always thought (as do most of my friends) that it’s English style, but people in England (and the rest of the world) think it’s American style.” I will admit that in the pre-internet days I thought something very similar. Head over to Keikari for the full read (and more pics!): Keikari Full interview

    Quote from the full interview:

“RP: I have always thought (as do most of my friends) that it’s English style, but people in England (and the rest of the world) think it’s American style.”

I have found the same. Also, that when I speak proper, clearly enunciated English, Americans think I’m British, and Brits compliment me on my English and ask me where I learned it. They know I’m not one of them, but definitely can’t believe I’m American.

  4. Eric says:

What kind of hair product do you use OCBD?

  5. oxford cloth button down says:

Eric – Good question. Currently I use Goldwell for Men texture cream paste. I was using Kenra Matte Texture Putty 10. I need something with some hold, but that feels (and looks) like there is no product in it. At times on this blog my hair may look like it has a lot of product, but that is usually when it is just wet. Hope this helps!

    • Hollywood Argyle says:

I use 100% pure aloe vera gel (dye-free). You can find it in pharmacies in the same area as the sunscreen. Although thought of as a skin care product, it’s great as hair gel. While it says “100% pure,” it actually has a very small amount of stabilizer and what-not in it. I like it because it works well, and has no alcohol, dyes, fragrance, oil, or anything else like that. Also, it doesn’t stain my hats, pillows, etc.

I used to use Fruit of the Earth; now, I use Rite Aid’s in-house brand.

I use no product at all and simply comb my hair with an anti-static comb.
