Madras Dump

Madras season is rapidly approaching. Opening day is officially Memorial Day with Easter getting an exemption. While I used to observe this arcane rule (and many others like it) I have since replaced it with a much simpler rule which is if it is hot, wear it. In celebration of the fact that warmer weather is on the horizon and to help me assess my current madras shirt situation here is a dump.

I am working on it! The patchwork pair I got last year quickly took a spot in the starting lineup.

This post has me stoked for the warm weather ahead! Great collection. If I may ask, what’s the ID on the shirt in the last pic with the flap pocket? The colors are fantastic.

Stoked as well! Thanks, it’s a Polo Ralph Lauren shirt. It was actually a long sleeved shirt that I turned into a short sleeved shirt.

Can’t wait to start wearing madras shirts again,

Nice one Jerrod! Madras season is ending down under, but I might still try to pull mine out for a few last wears!
What are your thoughts on madras ties and bow ties? I haven’t seen you wearing any before, but they seem like a good way to appear lively and festive in warm weather leisure time.
Also as others have said, try get yourself some PRL madras shorts in the non-patchwork variety. Really good with solid sports shirts or even T-shirts. Pleated pairs are really full cut, something like Patagonia baggies I suspect, but they could probably be taken in.
    Cheers!

Thanks, Tie Clip. I am not a big fan of madras ties, but I do need to try some of the PRL madras shorts. I’ve had pairs before and liked them. Might be time to circle back.

    Jerrod…welcome back.
I’m curious as to the maker of the blue blazer you’re wearing with the madras shirt.
    Thanks

Fred, It’s an old Brooks Brothers Wash’n’wear blazer. I need another as this one is fading fast.

I would like to hear from you
